[DISCUSSION]161223 CHANYEOL'S UPCOMING DRAMA

Hello Everyone!

Well it certainly has been forever since I’ve posted something but life does get in the way of your fangirling at most times.

2016 is drawing to a close, can you believe it? Honestly, this has been such a record breaking year for Exo- but this post is not about that! No, rather I will be saving that post for next week Friday, where I relive all of Exo’s greatest moments from this year.

So then, what is this post about you ask?

Missing 9.

I’m sure some of you must know that Chanyeol is taking on a drama next year. And I’m here to break it down for you.

The plot:

In a nutshell, a very fancy plane goes down mid-flight and only 9 people survive the crash. Stranded on a deserted island, they each need to figure out how to get brave the wild and get back to their normal lives.

Chanyeol’s Character

Yeol is one of the supporting characters, named Lee Yeol. He’s a mega-successful singer-songwriter and also the ex-member of boy group. In terms of personality, he’s a pretty happy-go-lucky type and tries to give hope to the other survivors. But he’s also said to be very strong and able to survive the island quite efficiently.

Okay, so that sounds like Chanyeol in real life right? While most people are against idols playing a version of themselves in dramas, I quite like it. We saw how well it worked with Baekhyun (and my Wang Eun feels have returned. I shall never forgive the writers for his death). Speaking of death, I may as well warn you now that Chanyeol’s character does not survive the island. Hate me for spoiling, but I’ve saved you a lot of heartache when you watch the actual drama and see him die.

The Other 8 characters:

Just to put it into perspective, here’s a breakdown of the other characters (I might have borrowed a little bit of this from an article I wrote for Officially Kmusic so...#noplagiarism unless one can plagiarise themselves...

Jung Kyung Ho as Seo Joon Oh:

An ex-leader of a popular boy group, he lost his reputation after many scandals. The plane crash is probably the worst thing to happen to him and he fears he will disappear from the public eye permanently.

Baek Jin Hee as Ra Bong Hee:

She is Seo Joon Oh’s stylist and is actually the only character to survive the island. The drama is basically her retelling their story to the world, after she is rescued.

Oh Jung Se as Jung Ki Joon:

 Every celeb needs a manager, and Jung Ki Joon takes on that job for Seo Joon Oh.

Choi Tae Joon and Choi Tae Ho:

Choi Tae Ho fills the spot of our antagonist who doesn’t really spread any positivity. As an ex-member of Seo Joon Oh’s band and now an actor, his desire to get off the island will cause more than just a little tension. He is also not on good terms with his ex-leader and that will cause many problems.

Lee Sun Bin as Ha Ji Ah:

Hailing from Legend Entertainment, this actress is also label mates with Seo Joon Oh and Cho Tae Oh. She hides a dark secret that contrasts her usual sunny personality.

Ryu Won as Yoon So Hee:

Another actress among the survivors, she is regarded as a “Hallyu Goddess”. She loses a sense of her future and changes drastically in terms of personality and determination to survive the island.

Kim Sang Ho as Hwang Jae Gook:

The CEO of Lengend Entertainment is also amongst the survivors, along with many of the artists housed under his label.

Tae Hang Ho as Tae Ho Hang:

With the stranded CEO, comes his equally stranded assistant. Both will attempt to navigate this new surrounding as also provide us with some needed comic relief amidst the mystery and drama.

                                                                                                                                                               

The trailer:

A while ago, Chanyeol himself got soo excited over his drama- which is really adorable- and released a trailer showing how cool this drama is going to be. It’s mystery, drama and a little romance all rolled into one. Check out the trailer below:
